We expect 100% attendance. If you miss school you will miss vital lessons which will harm your learning. We do not want you to miss any days in school. If you miss school with no good reason you could have attendance officers calling at your home.
The Government insist that schools do not support families that want to take holidays in term time and we are instructed to not support applications. At Skilts family time is very important and the economic temptation to go away during the school term is difficult to resist. We are willing to work with families in the best interest of educating the whole child and supporting quality family time as well as ensuring all pupils make progress.
If you are absent your parent should telephone the main school office (option 1) before 9.30 a.m. on the first day of absence and each subsequent day (answer phone between 5.00 p.m. and 8.15 a.m.)
If you have any medical appointments during the school day please show the appointment card to a staff member so we can confirm or support you in ensuring you attend at necessary times. If the school nurse or Parent Support Advisor can support you with appointments
Ensuring you are safe is vital to all of us so it is important you are in the right place at the right time. You need to be at school everyday and in class where you can learn and become the best you can be.
